What is t-blade? The blade system without blades.
The t-blade-Skid system is an innovative ice skate blade system for ice hockey and recreational players that completely eliminates the need for a traditional grinding process.
Instead of polished steel runners, t-blade relies on interchangeable blades (Runner) with a constant profile, consistent performance and significantly reduced maintenance requirements.
The goal of t-blade:
Consistently identical driving characteristics, maximum gliding performance and full control – without re-grinding.
How does the t-blade skid system work?
The t-blade system consists of three central components:
- Runner (Interchangeable blades)
Plastic body with integrated, hardened metal strip as running surface - Holder (Skid holder)
Connection between ice skating boot and Runner - Stabilisator
Fixes the Runner and ensures controlled flexibility
The Runner will be affected by wear and tear not sanded, but simply replaced with a new one – similar to the principle of razor blades.
What advantages does t-blade offer compared to classic steel runners?
1. No grinding required
The Runner are industrially manufactured and possess a constant hollow radius and a consistent rocker shape.
Errors caused by manual grinding are completely eliminated.
2. Improved sliding properties
Due to the high plastic content in Runner It acts as an insulator.
The metal band heats up faster in contact with the ice, creating a stable film of water.
Result: up to 40% better sliding properties compared to conventional steel skids.
3. Longer shelf life
The metal band is made of rustproof, break-resistant spring steel with high edge hardness.
A Runner average 4-5 times longer than a classically ground steel.
4. Light weight
t-blade is one of the lightest ice skate blades on the market.
The lower weight has a positive effect on maneuverability, acceleration and fatigue.
5. Controlled flexibility
The Runner possesses a targeted rebound effect which:
- tight curve radii
- high cornering speeds
- strong braking deceleration
allows.
What does the "t" in t-blade mean?
The "t" stands for thermal properties.
Due to the special combination of materials, the sliding surface achieves a certain level of performance in contact with the ice. up to 4 °C higher surface temperature, without external heat input.
This localized heating ensures the optimal water film between the blade and the ice – the basis for the typical t-blade gliding properties.
Do you need a t-blade?Runner grind?
No.
t-blade-Runner allowed not sanded .
Grinding would damage the plastic in the area of the metal band.
As soon as the edge grip weakens, the Runner simply replaced.
Small uneven areas can be smoothed out if necessary with a grindstone be smoothed.
How long does a t-blade last?Runner?
A Runner Compared to conventional steel skids, it has a 4-5 times longer service life.
Damage is caused almost exclusively by hard edge contact (e.g., concrete or gate frame).
Suggestion:
Runner Treat it with the same care as any other ice skate blade.
What are the available hollow radii for t-blade?
Currently relevant hollow radii:
- 9 / 11 → Maximum edge hold (hard ice)
- 13 / 15 → better gliding properties (softer ice)
Rule of thumb:
- Hard ice → small radius
- Soft ice → larger radius
Which one Runner Is it suitable for beginners?
New t-blade users should be prepared for a shallower hollow radius (13 or 15) start.
The very smooth surface of the Runner It provides excellent gliding, but requires a short familiarization period.
Why are t-blade runners louder than steel runners?
Due to the high plastic content, the Runner significantly more flexible.
Under high load, especially in curves, an audible noise is produced by the rebound effect.
This sound is Technically necessary and harmless.
Is there a minimum or maximum weight for a T-blade?
No.
Heavier players can make greater use of the flex properties, but lighter players still benefit from:
- Stability
- Gliding performance
- controlled maneuverability
The system is designed for users up to a weight of 120 kg designed.
What system size do I need?
t-blade system sizes (in mm):
248 - 256 - 264 - 272 - 280 - 288 - 300
You can find the system size here:
- on the Runner (e.g. M-11-272)
- on the inside of the Stabilisators
- on the Holder
From what shoe size can the t-blade be used?
From system size 248 mm, corresponds to approximately EU shoe size 37.
Can I install my t-blade system myself?
For optimal fit and safety, it is recommended to use the system from trained specialists to have it installed.
What does the designation M-11-272 mean?
- M → Sliding surface length (S / M / L)
- 11 → Hollow radius
- 272 → System size in mm
What is the t-blade system key needed for?
To loosen and fix the Stabilisator-screws at the Runner-Change.
A substitution is possible anytime and anywhere – even directly at the boards.
What materials is the t-blade system made of?
- fiberglass reinforced plastic
- Optional: carbonHolder with higher stiffness and better power transmission
- Runner with integrated spring steel metal band
What is the difference between standard and carbon fiber?Holder?
The carbon-Holder is:
- easier
- torsionally rigid
- more efficient in power transmission
It is fully compatible with all t-blade system components.
Are white and black Runner different?
No.
The material, manufacturing process, and driving characteristics are identical – only the color differs.
Are t-blade blades suitable for figure skating?
No.
The t-blade was designed for ice hockey and recreational skaters and has no front toe picks or figure skating-specific geometry.
Are skate guards necessary?
Yes, recommended.
t-blade-Runner They have very sharp edges.
The original skate guards protect both the user and the skate blade, and allow safe walking off the ice.
Where are t-blade products available?
The t-blade-Skid systems are today mainly about the official t-blade online shop as well as in the t-blade Outlet Store in Turkheim (Bavaria) .
In addition, t-blade products are occasionally available in other online shops.
These are usually heavily reduced product ranges or remaining stocks, the not the complete current t-blade system depict.
- The official shop offers:
- the complete current product range
- System sizes and Runner-Variants
- original spare parts
- technical updates and current configurations
Conclusion: For whom is the t-blade the right choice?
t-blade is ideal for anyone who:
- constant performance desired
- no more grinding
- Appreciate reproducible driving characteristics
- Emphasis on technology, lightness and control
Where can I buy t-blade products?
t-blade products are available in the official t-blade online shop and the t-blade outlet store in Türkheim (Bavaria). Additionally, individual models are still available in selected online shops, usually in limited quantities or as remaining stock.
Do you have to sharpen the runners of a T-Blade?
No. t-blade Runner They are not sharpened. As soon as the edge retention diminishes, the replaceable blade is simply replaced with a new one. Runner replaced. This ensures that the profile and driving characteristics remain constant.
Who is the t-blade system suitable for?
The t-blade blade system is suitable for ice hockey players of all skill levels as well as ambitious recreational skaters. Players who value consistent performance, reduced maintenance, and reproducible skating characteristics will particularly benefit.
What are the available hollow radii for t-blade?
Currently, hollow radii of 9, 11, 13, and 15 are available. Smaller radii offer more edge hold on hard ice, while larger radii provide better gliding on softer ice. For beginners, 13 or 15 are usually recommended.
Can I use the t-blade? Runner Change it yourself?
Yes. The t-blade system key can be used to... Runner They can be changed at any time – even directly at the boards or in the locker room. A sharpening service is not necessary.
Tip: First-time t-blade riders should start with a shallower hollow radius. The system offers very high gliding properties that take a little getting used to – after which its advantages become fully apparent.

Hello T-Blade(he),
I'm really frustrated with your new shop concept.
I've been driving for 16 years now. T-Bladeand I always spontaneously created new ones Runner I could buy them on site if needed. Apparently, that's no longer possible this season. I want to buy the Runner But they shouldn't stockpile either. I also see problems with this ordering concept (only online) for children and teenagers. Parents are forced to buy in bulk, but the children will outgrow them. Runner They are unnecessarily disposed of too early or possibly even unused – unfortunately, this is not a truly sustainable approach.
I'm afraid my next pair of ice skates (due this year) probably won't be very good. T-BladeIt's no longer possible. Even a 5% shop relaunch discount won't help. It's a real shame, because I still think your "no more loops" principle is excellent.
With disappointed regards
Hello R. Gimmerthal,
Thank you for your open and honest comment – we understand the frustration very well and take the feedback seriously.
The switch to a predominantly online-based model was not easy for us and was no decision against customers or brick-and-mortar retail, but a consequence of the reality of T-Blade-Systems:
Why brick-and-mortar sales didn't work in the long run
T-Blade offers an extremely wide variety of options: different Runner-Lengths, radii, flex, colors and systems.
In practice, hardly any retailer had all relevant variants in stock.
In over 80% of cases, the Runner Instead of buying one that was available locally, another one had to be ordered.
The typical sequence of events was then:
1) Customer drives into the store → Runner not from
2) The dealer orders the appropriate one. Runner by us
3) Shipping to dealer
4) Customer goes to the store a second time to pick up the order.
This is time-consuming, unnecessarily complicated, and anything but sustainable (additional routes, additional shipping).
Why direct shipping makes more sense for us – and ultimately for the customer.
The customer orders exactly the Runner, which he really needs.
Delivery directly to your home within approximately 1-2 days.
No unnecessary journeys, no bad purchases, no compromises.
Clear, stable prices without markups from intermediaries.
Sustainability is particularly important to us when it comes to children and young people:
Our goal is notThe goal is not to buy in bulk, but to order specifically and appropriately. This naturally requires some planning – that's correct – but it prevents incorrect purchases and unused items. Runner Significantly better than the previous model.
In short:
We didn't change the system to make it more convenient for us, but to reduce incorrect purchases, save time and effort, ensure price stability, and achieve the best possible long-term results. T-Blade-Ensure experience.
We completely understand that this might initially feel like a step backwards for long-time users. However, we hope that the advantages will become noticeable in everyday use – after the first order.
If you are unsure which one Runner If you're looking for the right skates (especially before buying new ones), we're always happy to help you personally. That's exactly what we're here for.

Hello T-Blade Team,
Since the relaunch of your shop, I have been searching in vain for Runner with a hollow radius of 18 mm and 21 mm. Also in the new description of the Runner and this article will only contain further information Runner They were described as having a hollow radius of 9mm-15mm. Have you completely removed the 18mm and 21mm sizes from your product range? It wasn't possible to obtain them through a retailer either.
Best Regards
Rob
Hello Rob,
Good observation – yes, the Runner We no longer regularly stock the products with a hollow radius of 18 mm and 21 mm.
The reason for this is that practical experience has shown that the vast majority of runners operate with hollow radii up to 15 mm. The 18 mm and 21 mm variants were very rarely requested and were truly exceptional cases.
Therefore, we have deliberately streamlined our product range at this point and are focusing on the radii that have proven themselves in everyday use.
If you have a very specific one Runner If you have an eye on the (including length), feel free to contact us directly – we will then check if there are any remaining stocks available.

The order was placed on Sunday, January 11.01th, with a stated delivery time of two to three days.
The status in the online shop is still "In progress".
Inquiries submitted via the contact form or email will not be answered. The telephone number listed in the webshop, +49 8247 3879981, and the number linked to it, +49 8241 9174920, are not reachable. The first number is busy after one ring, and no one answers the second number.
The credit card was charged immediately after the order was placed.
I don't want to accuse anyone, I'm just wondering if the shop or the company... T-Blade It actually exists and whether it can deliver.
Forum posts are answered within a few hours, even at night. Why are inquiries via the contact form or emails not being answered?
Disappointed regards – Thomas Györgyfalvay
Hello Thomas,
Thank you for your objective and understandable comment. We fully understand your uncertainty and would like to address it transparently.
Yes, T-Blade Of course, it exists – and yes, we are delivering. However, we are currently experiencing a situation unlike anything we have ever encountered before.
Our completely new logistics warehouse was actually supposed to be already before the start of the season It should be completed by now. Unexpected delays in setting up the warehouse have not only postponed the shop relaunch, but have also put our entire shipping and support structure under severe strain in the middle of peak season. In addition, we have had staff absences due to illness.
The fact that orders are currently remaining in the "Processing" status for longer and inquiries via email, contact form or telephone are not being answered promptly is due to not our standard – and for that we would like to expressly apologize.
Your credit card was correctly charged during the order process. Your order is recorded in our system and will be processed. not lost.
The reason you get faster answers here in the forum than by email is that we are currently managing these channels in parallel, sometimes outside of regular working hours, in order to remain visibly accessible. This doesn't replace proper support – but it's an attempt to maintain contact.
We are currently working intensively to catch up on all backlogs and expect that we End of next week are back to normal and then the usual delivery time will resume. two to three days can guarantee it.
We take your criticism very seriously and will contact you personally to clarify your order.
Thank you for your patience and your fair questions.
Regards
Your T-Blade Team
Hello T-Blade Team,
Is everything OK with you? Since the shop relaunch, there seem to be massive problems with your support and general accessibility.
The negative reviews are all piling up with the same content.
– No response to emails
– No response on the phone
– No shipping of paid goods for several weeks
I am also affected by this and thought I would try to make contact here since the last questions were answered here.
Hoping for a prompt response and clarification.
Best Regards
Tobi
Hello Tobi,
Thank you for your candid comment – and yes, unfortunately your perception is correct.
Our completely new logistics warehouse was actually supposed to be even before the season We need to be finished. Delays in setting up our warehouse have not only postponed the shop relaunch, but have also put our entire shipping and support structure under pressure during the peak season. In addition, we've had staff shortages due to illness.
The fact that this has resulted in delivery times the likes of which we have never experienced before is absolutely unacceptable to us – and for this we can only sincerely apologize.
We are currently working intensively to catch up on all backlogs and expect that we will be able to do so. End of next week are back to normal and then the usual delivery time will resume. two to three days can comply.
We are aware that many things have come together. A single issue would have been easily manageable – the combination was too much even for us. However, this doesn't change the fact that we take our community seriously, value you highly, and are far from satisfied with the current situation.
Thank you for your patience. We will contact you personally to clarify your case.

Your T-Blade Team
Thank you for your open and honest answer. That really sounds like an exceptional situation, and it's completely understandable that delivery dates can't be met under these circumstances.
I think what many customers (myself included) were missing was information about this. However, I can also understand that in this situation, other things are prioritized first.
I, and I hope others as well, received help today; thank you very much. The employee was extremely friendly and even seemed calm to me.
I will certainly do my part to help get your rating back up. 🙂
Thank you for your open and understanding feedback.
We are very pleased to read that you were able to receive help today and that you found your contact with our employee to be positive – we will gladly pass this on internally.
You are absolutely right: Earlier and clearer information would have helped many customers. In exceptional situations, the focus unfortunately sometimes shifts too much to operational management, while communication suffers. That is not our goal – and we take your feedback very seriously.
We appreciate your fairness, understanding, and support all the more. Thank you also for your willingness to contribute to improving our overall image – this is by no means a given.
Should you have any further questions or concerns in the future, we are always happy to assist you.
Thank you for your trust.

Dear t-blade team,
I would like to send in my existing ice skate (standard blade) for fitting with a t-blade system. Unfortunately, it's not entirely clear to me which option is the best. The following "product" is available: https://t-blade.shop/eigener-schuhumbau-inkl-t-blade-komponenten/ where all components are already included. However, the following can be added here: Runner I can't select a specific radius, and I don't understand which radius is then used.
Furthermore, this product is available: https://t-blade.shop/eigener-schuh-mit-montage/The description states that I send in my shoe and also select additional components. However, when I add the "assembly product" and the other components to my shopping cart, it seems as though I will simply receive the components as usual. Furthermore, the prices differ between the two options.
Could you please clarify this?
Thanks and best regards,
Lukas
Hello Lukas,
Thank you for your detailed question – absolutely valid, the topic requires explanation. We're happy to clarify things here 👍
Basically, we offer three clearly separate options for modifying your own ice skate:
1️⃣ Custom shoe modification including t-blade components

3️⃣ Conversion using existing t-blade system
If you already own t-blade ice skates and only need the Swap shoes would like:
Why do the prices differ?
Very easily:
Your specific case sounds like either...
"Custom shoe modification including t-blade components" (if you want everything new)
or "Custom shoe with assembly" (if you already have everything) the right choice.
If you're unsure, feel free to briefly tell us which shoe you have and whether it already contains t-blade components – then we'll tell you directly what makes the most sense.
